Does my child have to be Jewish to attend TKA?
Not at all! We warmly welcome families of all faiths and backgrounds to our ECC. While our program is rooted in Jewish values such as kindness, compassion, community, and respect, you do not need to be Jewish to attend.
Do you have any Camps?
Yes! We offer winter, spring and summer camps for families that need care and enriching experiences outside of the regular school year. Our camps provide a fun and engaging environment where children can continue playing, exploring, and building friendships.
What is the age range?
We offer programming options and care for children as young as 6 weeks old through pre-k during the school year, as well as for winter and spring break camp. Our 10-week summer camp program is available from 6 weeks old through Kindergarten age.
Do you provide snacks?
We provide nutritious morning and afternoon snacks each day. Our snacks typically include a variety of fresh fruit, veggies, grain crackers, yogurt, cheese, and other wholesome options to help keep children energized throughout the day. During the enrollment process, families let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions so we can take the appropriate precautions to ensure all of our student’s safety. A monthly snack calendar is made available at the front desk and is sent home at the beginning of each month.
Do you allow nuts in your school?
TKA is a nut-free campus, and nuts are not permitted in our classrooms. We take food allergies very seriously and are committed to providing a safe environment for every child. The health, safety, and well-being of our children, families, and staff are one of our highest priorities.
What's a regular school day look like?
A typical day at TKA looks a little different depending on your child’s age and developmental stage.
Four our youngest learners, 6 weeks-12 months, each infant follows an individualized schedule provided by their family so we can maintain each child’s feeding, sleeping, and care routines while they are with us. Interwoven into their responsive care throughout the day, awake time for our infants includes supervised tummy time, outside walks, stories, sensory activities, and music.
Beginning at age one, children enjoy a thoughtfully planned daily schedule filled with age-appropriate learning experiences and play-based activities. Our classrooms participate in greeting circles, morning meetings to begin their days and learning centers that promote cognitive, social-emotional, language, and creative development throughout their day giving our students the opportunity to explore, discover, and build confidence through hands-on learning.
What if my child isnt Potty Trained?
We welcome children at every stage of their potty training-journey, whether they’re just getting started or simply need a little extra support along the way. We encourage our families to include us when they’re getting ready to start the potty-training process so we can partner together and help provide consistency between home and school. While potty training typically begins in our older twos classroom, every child develops at their own pace, and for some, the process may not begin until age three. No matter the age, our teachers provide patient, positive encouragement and work closely with families to help make this important milestone a successful and confidence-building experience.
Do boys and girls share a bathroom?
Each of our classrooms has convenient access to a shared jack-and-Jill restroom, allowing children to remain close to their teachers if they need extra support. Every restroom includes individual toilet stalls, child-height potties, and handwashing stations designed specifically for young children. Since the restrooms are connected directly to the classrooms, children don’t have to leave the classroom area, providing both added safety and convenience while encouraging age-appropriate independence.
